Daily Devotional: Money Is a Servant
Money Is
a Servant
Money mimics God materially — that’s the fraud. Settled right, it’s not an enemy. It’s a servant.
Take a moment with today’s prayer, then continue into the devotional below.
How Are You Arriving Today?
How is money sitting in your house today?
Choose what’s honest today.
Scripture of the Day
Luke 16:13
“Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
Jesus named only one other god: mammon. Money mimics God materially — don’t serve the mimic.
Today’s Devotional
Money Is a Servant, Not a God
Money is the only other god Jesus ever named. That tells you how good the imitation is.
Of every warning Jesus could have given, He gave this one: you cannot serve God and mammon. Money is the only other god He ever proclaimed outside of His Father.
Why money? Because money is equivalent to God in one specific way: it can give what God can give — in a materialistic way. Provision. Security. A future. Options.
That’s why it can be a fraud. A counterfeit only works if it resembles the real thing. Nobody counterfeits what doesn’t look valuable.
So the daily question of the game is this: will I give all deity unto money, or will I give all deity unto God?
Money doesn’t have to be an enemy. It just can’t be a god.
Notice Jesus never said money is evil. He said you can’t SERVE both. Service is the issue — worship, obedience, deity.
When money is served, it gets offerings: your peace, your sleep, your obedience, your first thoughts in the morning. When money is settled as a servant, it gets assignments.
A servant doesn’t get consulted about the vision of the house. A servant gets told where to go and what to build. That’s money in its right place.
Level up: settle who holds deity, once.
So settle it today, not emotionally but positionally: God holds deity in this house. Money is my servant — received with gratitude, assigned with purpose, never served. That’s how you play the game and win it.
When Money Runs Your Decisions
Bring Me the Decision Money Is Making
If money is deciding, money is being served. Some decisions need to be prayed out of the throne room and into the light.
Bring me the actual situation — the decision money has been making for you, the fear attached to it, the place the servant started acting like a god. I’ll personally pray through what you share and help you see it with greater clarity, perspective, wisdom, and peace.
Bring My Situation Into the Guidance Room → The Guidance Room provides spiritual and reflective guidance. It is not therapy, medical care, crisis support, or a replacement for licensed professional help when needed.Dethrone and Assign
Where has the servant been acting like a god?
Sit with this one honestly. Write what is true, not what sounds spiritual.
Seal This Moment
Lord, money serves in this house.
Lord, You alone hold deity in my house — today and every day.
I take back the offerings I gave to money: my peace, my sleep, my first thoughts.
Money, you are a servant. You will be assigned, not adored.
Expose every place the mimic has fooled me.
Teach me to receive money with gratitude and send it with purpose.
God is God here. The servant knows its place.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
One Assignment Step
Give money one assignment today.
Take one amount — any amount — and assign it out loud on purpose: “You are assigned to ___.” Giving, saving, or paying from a settled heart. Write the assignment down.
Completion Moment
The throne is settled today.
Carry this truth: money is a servant in your house — God holds the deity, and the fraud is exposed.
Sow Like a Settled House
Did today’s word put money in its place?
